Alonso can't wait to see Barcelona in red

Many announced him as the big favorite for the world championship of Formula 1 2010. Some even went so far as to say that the association Alonso-Ferrari would insolently dominate this season. Winner in Bahrain for the opening round, the Spaniard has since failed to climb onto the podium.

But his car, although not yet reliable, proved to be efficient. It is therefore in third position, only 11 points behind Jenson Button, that the Ferrari driver will enter the Spanish Grand Prix, with his title chances still intact.

“We have not always obtained results in line with our potential, says the 2005-2006 world champion. But we are fighting for the title, and that?s what matters most. In the last two years, after four Grands Prix, it was already clear that I could no longer fight for the world crown. Sunday evening, in Shanghai, I was not very happy. But now, with a clear head, I am really satisfied with this start to the season. »

On May 9, in Barcelona, the former resident of Renault F1 team will race at home, in front of his home crowd. A race he is looking forward to.

“I will race here for the first time with Ferrari, continues the native of Oviedo. The stands should be completely red. I'm almost certain of it. It is only my Asturias fans who should contrast somewhat with the rest, they who are always dressed in blue. »

Despite the problems encountered during the last races, Fernando Alonso seems to be full of confidence. It is indeed a red tide that we risk seeing at the end of the Spanish Grand Prix on May 9.
