After Kimi Räikkönen, it was the turn of Fernando Alonso to take the wheel of the Ferrari F14 T on the Jerez circuit in front of an audience devoted to his cause. The double world champion ended the day with the fifth time (1’25”495) two seconds behind the McLaren MP4-29 from Kevin Magnussen. But the times are anecdotal in this first week of winter testing and it is above all the reliability of the new mount. Maranello which gives satisfaction since the Asturian was able to complete 58 laps or 257km at the wheel.
Fernando Alonso focused this morning on aerodynamic measurements, where he found himself stopped on the track following a slight breakdown of the F14 T, before working on the settings of the Ferrari F14 T in the afternoon. “It’s always good to get back behind the wheel, especially when you’re in front of your audience. I missed it for a few months even though I spent a few hours on the simulator in Maranello. The feeling of the track is more exciting than ever. We now have a lot of work ahead of us, but we have plenty of room for improvement and that is encouraging. »
