Alonso: Pole is possible

After a victory at Silverstone and two podiums at Valencia and the Nürburgring, Fernando Alonso hopes to repeat such a performance in Hungary before the summer break. On a track which does not favor overtaking and where qualifying proves to be crucial, the driver of the Team achieved the second time at 0??241 from the best time of Lewis Hamilton (1?21??018).

Si Red Bull continues to monopolize first place on the starting grids, the bad period that the Austrian team is currently going through suggests good hopes for the Spaniard. “We are approaching this race like the previous two”, explains the double World Champion. “We know we can be in the top five in qualifying, we can be second, fourth or first because we don't know exactly who is able to fight for pole. »

Fernando Alonso is still expecting a hotly contested fight between the three top teams on the grid. “I think it will be very close, that’s a good thing for us”, adds the Spaniard. “We were unable to envisage victory in the first races of the season. We were just trying to get on the podium by getting closer to them. »
