Alonso: drivers will talk about starts

The Russian Grand Prix was the scene of several clashes in the peloton notably involving Esteban Gutiérrez, Nico Hulkenberg, Daniil Kvyat or Sebastian Vettel.

Fernando Alonso, sixth in the race in Sochi, told Cadena Cope radio that the situation would be discussed by the drivers during the next meeting on the weekend of May 15 in Barcelona (Spain).

“The first turns were strange this year. I had a narrow escape in the last race. We will try to talk to each other at the next drivers meeting in Barcelona”, indicated the pilot McLaren.

The case of Daniil Kvyat, author of two collisions and the abandonment of Sebastian Vettel, will certainly be on the menu. The pilot Red Bull had already been criticized for his daring overtaking of the pilot Ferrari at the first corner of the Chinese GP, forcing the four-time world champion to swerve and hit his teammate Kimi Räikkönen.

“He was clearly at fault in Sochi and that's why he received a penalty, but I'm sure he will be calmer next time. It was a bit unfair for him in Shanghai. "The controversy arose from an unfortunate situation for everyone and I don't think there was anyone in particular responsible.", said the double world champion.
