Alonso: 'Ferrari could miss Massa'

After eight years with ?les Rouges?, Felipe Massa signed with the team Williams for the 2014 season. Fernando Alonso will thus discover a new teammate with the Finn Kimi Räikkönen.

The double world champion in 2005 and 2006, who was number one driver since his arrival in the Team Ferrari in 2010 will have to be wary of the very fast Räikkönen. Despite everything, the Spaniard thinks Massa is a loss for Ferrari.

“Felipe is a great worker, he declared to our Brazilian colleagues, Totalrace. He works day and night with the team to improve the performance of the car. I don't know Kimi but according to rumors he doesn't speak much and is very isolated, I think Ferrari might miss Massa. admitted Alonso.

The native of Oviedo tried to convince Ferrari to retain his 32-year-old Brazilian friend but it was ultimately Räikkönen who was chosen. Alonso, however, wanted to reassure the supporters of the Scuderia, his relationship with the Finn, defector from Lotus F1, should not resemble the one he knew at McLaren in 2007.

“We have to concentrate on preparing a good car during the winter. If having two good pilots, as with Red Bull, is profitable for the team so it doesn't matter if there are 'Multi-21' or 'Multi-35' strategies, declared the Spaniard. The atmosphere in the team will be very good. »

Scuderia Ferrari has not won the constructors' championship since 2008 and the drivers' championship since 2007? with a certain Kimi Räikkönen.
