Alonso couldn't keep his head

Starting in 4th place on the grid, Fenando Alonso made a magnificent start putting him in the lead at the end of the first turn. However, his performance was not enough for the Asturian to get on the podium, his car only crossing the finish line in 5th position behind Mark Webber (Red Bull).

« The start was good. I think we missed a good start to the race this season, but it finally happened today », comments the pilot of the Team Ferrai at the BBC. “ Losing places may seem like a bad thing, but you have to understand that first place is not our current position. »

Fernando Alonso, who would certainly have preferred a better result on home soil, was handicapped by the poor grip of the new hard tires. “ We didn't have a competitive enough race pace because we were too slow with the hard tires,” underlines the Asturian. “Two teams are clearly in the spotlight at the moment and we need to reverse the trend. »
