Alonso can still aim for 2nd place

With 10 points difference between Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso, the place of vice-world champion is still within reach for the Asturian. The Scuderia is less efficient than McLaren but the rain could change that.

Alonso can still aim for 2nd place

Fernando Alonso is 10 points behind Jenson Button before taking part in the last race of the season in Sao Paulo. If the Briton is best placed to end the year as vice-world champion, the driver Ferrari still has a card to play this weekend at Interlagos, where the weather conditions could offer a special test.

“The rain expected on Sunday could bring us an unusual race which would give a different order than that observed during these last five or six events with Red Bull before McLaren and Ferrari », underlines Fernando Alonso. “It will still be a difficult weekend. We hoped that the car be competitive in India, Korea and Abu Dhabi, but with the potential of Red Bull and McLaren, we do not seem able to play for victory. We will still do everything possible to achieve this. »
