The plan is in motion. A few weeks later having completed 100 km of driving in Barcelona (Spain) with the Renault R.S.20, Fernando Alonso will once again wear the diamond jumpsuit this fall.
Next step in Fernando's Back to F1 journey; a two-day RS18 test in Bahrain next week!

The double Formula 1 world champion (2005 and 2006) will travel to Bahrain to conduct two days of private testing on November 4 and 5. For this occasion, theSpaniard, who will replace Daniel Ricciardo in 2021 alongsideEsteban Ocon, will drive the R.S.18 and not the car current.
Indeed, the regulations prohibit teams from conducting tests with an F1 car less than two years old, unless it is for promotional reasons (video filming) and not for sporting reasons. Which was the case for the Catalan trial run in October.
