The debriefing of the British Grand Prix must not have been easy for Franz Tost and Alpha Tauri. At Silverstone, the Italian team had the opportunity to move up the rankings on a track which was not favorable to them. Until the 11th lap of the race, Pierre Gasly et Yuki tsunoda were in 7th and 8th position. But that was without taking into account the enthusiasm of the Japanese who came to put an end to the Habs' race and condemned his own.

Although he admitted his wrongs, Yuki Tsunoda considers this incident closed. “ I'm happy that we can start racing again after a few days to forget about the Silverstone race. Unfortunately, I had an incident with Pierre. We discussed it as a team and now we are moving forward. We'll focus on how to erase the Silverstone disappointment », Announces the Japanese.

An opinion shared by his garage companion. “ Teammates should never meet, but on Sunday evening we sat down as a team and discussed it, then immediately moved on to planning the next Grand Prix in Austria », explains the Norman pilot.

Yet another “complicated weekend” announced by the AlphaTauri drivers

If at Silverstone, the rain then the first chaotic start had allowed AlphaTauri to hope for a double finish in the points, the Italian team thinks that it will be in difficulty again in Austria. “ It's a very fast track, especially the second and third sectors, and it's the type of circuit that has been a little complicated for us since the start of the year, advances the Habs. On the other hand, we have learned a lot from the races so far and we can try to improve the car in these conditions and make some progress. »

Yuki Tsunoda remains slightly more optimistic than his teammate for the second deadline in less than a week. “ Our level of performance has been different on several circuits, so you never know what to expect. It's not a difficult circuit to set up the car as you use a medium setup in terms of downforce for the high speed sections. Given our performance here last year, I think we can be quite competitive », Describes the 22-year-old pilot.

To find the right settings on the car, the teams will have little time in Spielberg. With the sprint race scheduled for Saturday, schedules will be disrupted. There will be only one practice session before qualifying at 17:00 p.m.
