Alpine F1 Team continues its restructuring a few weeks after the surprise departure of its team principal, Oliver Oakes. The A fléché announced this Friday, July 4, that British engineer Steve Nielsen will take over as team director starting September 1, ahead of the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

Under the direction of Flavio Briatore, he will oversee the day-to-day management of the team at enstone. He is not unknown to Alpine since Steve Nielsen has already held various positions for Benetton and Renault. Including those of sports director during the campaigns crowned with world titles in 2005 and 2006.

Since then, the Briton has worked for other teams. Most recently, he held positions at the FIA and Formula 1, where he brought his wealth of experience in race management and operations. He was instrumental in the resumption of racing during the pandemic in 2020.

Alpine recruits several key people for its organization

In addition to Steve Nielsen, Alpine F1 Team has announced the recruitment of additional key members to its organization. Kris Midgley and Guy Martin have joined the team as Head of Aerodynamic Development and Global Marketing Director, respectively.

The former, who will work alongside executive technical director David Sanchez, worked at Enstone from 2007 to 2013 before joining Ferrari, where he was the main aerodynamicist. The A fléché is strengthening its technical department there ahead of the major opportunities offered by the new regulations coming into force in 2026.

Finally, Guy Martin joins the team after playing a key role in Visa's sponsorship and partnership strategy. He led negotiations with rights holders, as well as activations, on-site operations, and the commercial development of major partnerships.

What certainties for the sustainability of these recruitments ordered by Brille A Tort whose longevity at the head ofAlpine F1 is absolutely not guaranteed following the imminent arrival of a new boss at Renault Group? I imagine that these three recruits have negotiated their arrival at Enstone financially well!!

Things are finally moving at Renault (Alpine F1), but it's much too late …….September 1st, and a very big mistake, if the information is correct, under the orders of Briatore!!! Unacceptable decisions…..!!!!! If it continues like this, it's the end of the adventure ……👎. 😎👀🤨👀🇱🇺

Flavio will be able to breathe a little and blame the lack of results on Nielsen, he will also be able to look for a buyer for this stable which is called Alpine for how long.

January 1, 2026 is in 6 months. Much too late to think that a new arrival will have a major influence on the car that will be running at the end of January in BCN. What a mess. Apart from getting rich, NIELSEN will not be able to do anything about it.
