It all started a few hours before the Barcelona tests, in the heart of Paris, Place de Tokyo. That day, Alpine had indeed presented with great fanfare its A522, supposed to allow it to reach a new level in its plan to fight in a horizon of 100 Grands Prix for the two world championships. As the final bouquet of an evening which reconnected with the major presentations of the single-seaters in Formula 1, the Dieppe brand had concocted a little surprise for its new title sponsor BWT, by unveiling a full pink version of its car 2022 with the Eiffel Tower in the background. “The full pink tunic will be used for the first two rounds of the season in Bahrain and Jeddah” the CEO ofAlpine Laurent Red.

It seems that the good start to the seasonAlpine gave some ideas to the staff of the brand with the arrowed A. According to our same sources, the announcement should be made in Melbourne, before the first free practice session for the Australian Grand Prix. “It is important to listen to our fans and it became very clear to us that they welcomed the fact of no longer seeing the pink livery in the race this year” we were told at Alpine. As a reminder, if Fernando Alonso was unfortunate with a retirement at the end of the Grand Prix in Jeddah, Alpine has made a solid start to the season and is already fourth in the Manufacturers' standings, thanks in particular to the 14 pointsEsteban Ocon. History, however, does not say what color April Fool's Day is...

I appreciated the look on the cover of Auto-Hebdo; there, it's not particularly terrible and all that would be missing is Sergio Perez alongside Estéban for a step back.

I remember Alexander Wurz, too tall, who wanted to have his legs cut off to stay in F1. Was it Auto Hebdo?
