Alpine F1 Team is making headlines this midweek. Aside from Jack Doohan's replacement by Franco Colapinto, which was more or less expected, the resignation of Team Principal Oliver Oakes was clearly not. While a successor is found, Flavio Briatore, currently executive advisor for the A fléché, will act as interim manager.
Faced with such a situation, numerous rumors arose, notably announcing that the Briton had resigned due to deep disagreements with the influential Italian. On his social networks, this Wednesday afternoon, May 7, Alpine issued a statement in which the two men broke their silence.
"A lot has been said in the last 24 hours, wrongly linking Oli's decision to resign to a suspicion of disagreement. Or of differences in views that we share. This is completely false and far from the truth.", assures Flavio Briatore.

Resignation of Oliver Oakes fromAlpine : "The reasons are not team-related and are personal."
"Oli and I have a very good relationship and had long-term ambitions to take this team to new heights together. We respect Oli's request to resign and have therefore accepted it. The reasons are not team-related and are personal in nature." ", he reveals again.
"I will continue to be increasingly involved within the team, alongside the strong leadership team we have already put in place. We will work hard to improve our position and prepare for 2026."he concludes.
For his part, Oliver Oakes sent a message confirming that his resignation from the position of Team Principal ofAlpine F1 Team was for personal reasons. “It has been a privilege to lead all of this staff at enstone : What a team and what a place. Flavio has been like a father to me. He has always supported me since I took office, while giving me this opportunity., admits the Englishman.
“Everyone is ready for 2026 and for this team to achieve the dream it deserves! I believe in Enstone.”, he concludes. It now remains to be seen what the real reasons for this sudden departure are...

How can this brand aspire to progress in such an atmosphere...we have lost count of the number of team managers who have passed through this unfortunate team. Ultimately, Renault's number one objective was to propel Alpine in the firmament of premium sports cars is going "splash".

The two spelling mistakes in the title are annoying. I find it a shame that a newspaper like Auto Hebdo doesn't check this.

When you feel compelled to speak out like that, it hides something! It all sounds false... and Oakes certainly felt he could never take on the Team Principal role with Brille A Tort lurking around. And Il Magnifico Flavio's justifications ring hollow! What credibility does the King of Cheaters still have? One thing is certain, Brille A Tort, now alone in charge (which was perhaps his ultimate goal), can no longer blow a fuse if the rest of the 2025 season isn't better! And Gasly would do better to be wary of the aging Flavio...

Why did you take out B Famin? I advise Pierre Gasly to get out as quickly as possible. The car isn't working and I doubt that will change.
