Alpine presents the A521

After months of speculation, here's finally what the return ofAlpine en Formula 1 in 2021. The launch of the new A521, this Tuesday March 2, was an opportunity for the French manufacturer to announce the color, literally and figuratively.

 

Presented in January in a winter livery made mainly of matte black, the car is finally adorned with French blue, the historic color of the firm founded by Jean Rédélé in Dieppe (Normandy) in 1955, and red.

 

 

Fifth in the Manufacturers ranking in 2020 under the name Renault F1 Team, the Franco-English team will this year place its trust in Fernando Alonso et Esteban Ocon. The Spaniard, in search of a resounding comeback with a structure which had carried him to two world titles in 2005 and 2006, did not participate in the presentation.

“The health situation and the rules in force do not allow him to participate in marketing and communication activities as he continues his preparation for the season”, it was specified on the side ofAlpine. The old pilot McLaren et Ferrari was mainly the victim of a collision with a car while he was cycling in Switzerland. Having successfully undergone jaw surgery, he continues his physical training before the start of the season in Sakhir (Bahrain, March 28).

His French teammate, on the other hand, was very active on stage, he who will seek to continue his progress following a podium acquired in Bahrain last November.
