Disappointment, dismay, anger. A few days ago, Thursday, September 26, the staff representatives alpine Racing France had expressed their deepest concerns about the outcome of the consultative vote that was to take place four days later. Despite a meeting deemed "positive" with Luca de Meo, CEO of the Racing Group, Renault, on September 20, where they were able to detail their proposals for maintaining the program F1 2026 and the preservation of the historic site of Viruses-Châtillon, they were still waiting for a return. They had committed to the competitiveness of the 2026 Power Unit, to a top-notch sporting result and to the possibility of switching to an alternative path, once the car had been tested in 2026. This competitiveness pact that they carried and which displayed their certainty of having produced a reference power unit was not heard and retained. But was it ever

If I understand correctly - which is not certain - current F1 engines can only be modified to gain reliability, not power. Under whose "reign" did Viry design a fairly reliable but not powerful enough engine? I have an idea...

It's sad!! Having spent so much on a new engine that was already running... You should have tried it! In addition to the abandonment of employees, it's suppliers and a French sector that are falling.. I'm a pure Renault fan, I'll keep my Renault collectors but I won't renew my main car at Renault. I'm no longer a new vehicle customer at Renault today, there will be several of us I think, in any case, nice marketing move by the Renault board

It's a shame but Renault F1 doesn't have everything at the level needed on the engine side. Lack of investment maybe

I feel bad for my France It's not possible to put French excellence in the trash 🗑️ Meo you make me sad again a bad manager profitability prevails over 100% French mechanics Being the competitor of Ferrari and Aston Martin with a customer engine is shameful anyway Why time for hatred. French excellence in the trash 🗑️

A shame, how can we arrive at such a result, shame on de Meo, shame on Briator. Would it occur to Mercedes to put a Renault block in its cars, impossible. No national pride Mr de Meo no respect for the country that employs you and pays you handsomely I suppose, no respect for the customers, the supporters the unconditional fans of the brand. I have a deep thought for Jean REDELE he must be sad to see such a situation. Go to hell Briator and de meo. JP

And theAlpine A110 has an original Nissan engine, manufactured by Samsung Motors in Busan, South Korea and that did not stop the "historical channel" Alpinists from acquiring one!

Mercedes has adopted Renault engines on certain A and B Classes as well as on its small utility vehicle derived from the Kangoo!

Shame on Renault, Di Meo and his sidekick Briatore. Di Meo buries nearly 50 of Renault F2, team and engine supplier with the results that we know. For my part, I would never buy a Renault again, I would go to Mercedes or Audi, I would never buy an Alpine either, whether it is electric, yuck, or thermal, I am disgusted and sad for the employees of F1. In their place next year, I would not be at all motivated to run this poor and very mediocre F1 alpine and it is easy to hard that it is the engine....

Put a Mercedes engine on a alpine will no longer make it a French vehicle, it is a shame for our country, how can our government accept it?

It's really a shame to lose such valuable experience and knowledge, we French do not know how to preserve our knowledge and skills, it is Mr Bernard DUDOT who must also be disappointed, now Mr BRiATORE we are waiting for results for the future with the MERCEDES engine, you will have no more excuses. What a ruthless world that only looks at business I have been following F1 since I was five years old I followed the whole history of Renault in F1, now I wonder if it is still worth following F1

Since the arrival of the aging playboy, it smelled like a dirty trick and De Meo used it to dig the grave of the Reault team, today it is Andretti who is rubbing his hands while waiting to buy back (for the symbolic euro?) this team, he who has no other solution to integrate the F1 business supervised by Liberty Media, what a circus!!! Just like France which was bankrupted by a banker without faith or law if not that of all for the powerful rich, never call me France or Renault again, everything is going to hell!!!

Shameful, quite simply, bravo to the French state which does not even say a word, which does not come to the forefront to defend French values.

A disgrace Mercedes refused to let Renault update their engine in 2023 and now they are going to supply them with an engine the ultimate humiliation for alpine , it's over I won't watch F1 anymore. Briatore just came to take money and push it a little further alpine with the blessing of DE MEO

Disgusting, and above all probably deeply stupid. I had, like many, a good image of L de Meo. It has just been shattered. Beyond the image of his boss (no problem, he is only a person) it is the image of Renault and Alpine who is going to take a bad hit. With the impact on employees. And that is very serious.

For 10 years the Renault PU has not been at the level in F1, it is difficult to believe in a miracle for 2026. As for the WEC, it was clear that the announcement of the stake was perfectly orchestrated. As for the future of the Hydro engine in WEC, to be part of the adventure it would have been necessary for them to have been on the case for at least 2 years, the Japanese, BMW and the Koreans have understood this well. As for the future, the ultimatums from Brussels with the 2035 axe will destroy the European automobile industry, everyone knows it and everyone is heading for the wall thinking they are stronger than the others, Renault will perhaps be the first brick in the wall to fall, Stellantis should not be far behind, or even before! and many (almost all?) will follow. Historically we have already experienced it, what blows first is the motorsport 'fuse'.

This is another step towards deindustrialization for the exclusive benefit of German capital. Why not buy a Mercedes directly if you are so convinced of its superiority?

It is obvious that their speech was never taken into account. De Meo only bought time and gave them hope to avoid media turmoil. But we are far from a public service context where strikes and union negotiations maintain jobs in unprofitable services. F1 is an ultra-competitive environment and a constantly declining engine that has not found customers for several years is not an encouraging assessment for the future. Renault can no longer ridicule itself in this way despite its past glory.

The F1 chapter will soon turn in Viry. Let's not forget that after a new engine regulation in 2026, F1 will have another one from 2030, which is nonsense and will have another enormous cost for engine manufacturers! In any case, the future Alpine of road will all be Alpile to the great despair of the "historical channel" Alpinists and the link with F1 will be complicated to make, just like the WEC moreover. And the notoriety of Formula E is weak!
