After nine Grand Prix, Alpine is in last place in the Constructors' standings. This is something that has never been seen at this stage of the season since 2001 for the team.enstone (which was then Benetton Renault). The A525 raised hopes at the start of the season, but the Blues have since been overwhelmed from all sides, notably by the Sauber of Nico Hülkenberg, 5th in Barcelona.

Arriving in Montreal, Pierre Gasly learned the lessons of a series of three races where the irregularity ofAlpine has been highlighted. "There have been ups and downs, and I think that's what we're going to see all year long., he noted. When you look at the gaps, there was a tenth between 6th and 15th in Q1 in Barcelona: this shows how much we have to pay attention to details and try to optimize the car every weekend.".

Although he expressed his satisfaction at having picked up points for the third time this season in Spain, the Frenchman insisted on the need to work to move up the rankings. “Last week we went straight back to the factory to work with the team in the simulator and review the last races, confided Gasly, convinced that Montreal would bring its share of opportunities. It's a risk-taking path, but it can pay off big.".

After an initial return to calm, will Colapinto be able to ensure a clean weekend?

This work in the simulator is all the more crucial for Franco Colapinto. Returning in F1 with Alpine At Imola he had very little time to readjust and was happy to have been able to take a step back. "I think it was very good to have a week off to work with the team, understand the problems and what we need to improve."he confided.

The Argentinian's return to F1 hasn't gone as planned. Under intense pressure to perform, he has yet to stand out. "There have been a lot of ups and downs for the team during this three-race run, he recalled. II expected to improve a bit more after Imola, but it's always difficult to come back to F1 after six races away. The other drivers have already learned a lot. When you're not driving, it's difficult.".

Colapinto will not be helped by his lack of experience on the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit, where he has never driven. "The goal is to put together a solid weekend, hoping to bring back some points for both sides of the garage."To move out of last place in the Constructors' standings, you will need to add at least six units to your counter.Alpine, and hope that Sauber or Aston Martin missing the top 10.
