Ambitious Vijay Mallya

Capable of the worst as well as the best last year, the Force India team hopes to be more consistent this season. The VJM03 has been designed with more downforce than its predecessor, which should allow it to perform well on all types of circuits. Dr Vijay Mallya is confident, happy with how the winter trials went.

“We ended 2009 on a very good note, declares the boss of the Indian team. First points, first podium and one place better in the manufacturers' standings. This season we are determined to move up a gear. Regularly appearing in the points and getting on the podium on a few occasions are our main goals, and we know it is possible. I have complete confidence in my drivers and my engineers, and I think we work very well together. I am delighted with the overall performance of the team, both on the circuits and at the factory. The winter tests were very positive, but it is difficult to know where we stand before Bahrain. However, the first feedback from pilots is encouraging. If they feel confident in their car then they will be able to attack. »

To aim for the podium this season you will have to be very strong and overcome, among other things, Ferrari, Red Bull, McLaren et Mercedes, a daring challenge but the Indian is afraid of nothing.
