The new design of the rear wings actively contributes to the main objective of the new 2022 regulations of encouraging overtaking during racing. To do this, the aerodynamic turbulence created by a car must now only minimally affect the following car. With this in mind, the entire concept of the single-seaters has been revised, from the front wing to the rear end of the diffuser of the car, in order to project the air flows coming from the bodywork and the underbody upwards and disrupt the operation of the front wing of the following car as little as possible (Picture 1).
