It's a very sad day for F1. Andrea de Cesaris lost his life at the age of 55 in a road accident.

Andrea de Cesaris killed in road accident

After the accident of Jules Bianchi at the Japanese Grand Prix, the F1 is experiencing a new tragedy with the death of Andrea de Cesaris. Aged 55, the Italian was killed in a motorcycle accident on the Roma ring road, towards the Bufalotta district.

Andrea de Cesaris played 15 seasons in F1 between 1980 and 1994 driving for Alfa Romeo, McLaren, Ligier, Minardi, Brabham, Rial, Dallara, Jordan, Tyrrell and finally Sauber. The Italian has never managed to win but still has five podiums: 3rd at the 1982 Monaco GP, 2nd at the German GP and at the 1983 South African GP with Alfa Romeo, 3rd at the Belgium 1987 with Brabham and finally 3rd at the 1989 Canadian GP with Dallara.
