Andrea Kimi Antonelli will do FP1 with Mercedes in Italy

Should we see this as a premonitory sign when it is said to be closer than ever to Mercedes for the 2025 season and that the announcement could come at Monza next weekend? Maybe, maybe not. In the meantime, Star continues to train its young prospect Andrea Kimi Antonelli and will take a new step in its development plan.
After private tests with various old F1 cars, the Transalpine will “begin” in Formula 1 on Friday of the Italian Grand Prix weekend. Indeed, Mercedes decided to field it during Free Practice 1 on one of the W15s, as part of the obligation that the teams have to have rookies participate in at least two Free Practice sessions during the year, as confirmed Toto wolff at the end of the Dutch Grand Prix this Sunday.

As for the future of his protégé, Toto Wolff quickly kicked in indicating that they will see what they do with it later. Or is he hiding an even bigger gift and waiting for Andrea Kimi Antonelli to be in front of his audience to unwrap it?

Not really a scoop this announcement for Monza! In short, we can therefore deduce that Antonelli will not replace Sargeant from Monza for the end of the 2024 season. But will the Floridian be at Monza after the nice strike which will still cost Williams Racing dearly, which has not don't really need this?
