Antonio Giovinazzi to Alfa Romeo Sauber

After making it official yesterday the arrival of Kimi Räikkönen next year, it remains to Alfa Romeo Sauber to announce who will be the Finn's teammate next year. According to our information, Antonio Giovinazzi would emerge as the big favorite to support the world champion within the Swiss squad and thus form a duo with strong connotations Ferrari.

European F3 vice-champion et GP2Series, respectively in 2015 and 2016, the 24-year-old Italian would thus replace Marcus Ericsson, who has defended the interests of the Swiss team since 2015. However, he would not make his Grand Prix debut, sincehe had replaced – already at Sauber – a convalescent Pascal Wehrlein during the first two rounds of the 2017 season, in Australia then in China, resulting in a 12th position and abandonment.

Giovinazzi also led various test programs for the Swiss team during winter tests in Barcelona (Spain), before also being requisitioned during free practice at Red Bull Ring (Austria) Hockenheim (Germany) and Budapest (Hungary).
