We already knew the livery, unveiled last Tuesday during the F1 75 Live event, we now know the car. This Sunday, Aston Martin officially presented the AMR25, its car for season 2025 of Formula 1. It is with this mount that Fernando Alonso et Lance stroll will compete in the upcoming championship, with the aim of doing better than the 2024 campaign, which proved disappointing and poor in success (5th in the Constructors' Championship with 94 points, no podiums). The AMR25 is the last single-seater from the Silverstone factories to be equipped with a power unit Mercedes : from 2026, the British team will join forces with the Japanese engine manufacturer Honda, a unique and exclusive partnership between the two parties.

For 2025, Aston Martin has opted for evolution rather than revolution, a year before the major upheaval of the 2026 regulations. The most visible changes are at the level of the pontoons, with a more pronounced cut "to improve air flow ", explains the British team. As a result, the radiators had to be redesigned with an even more compact integration. The front wing of the AMR25 has also been revised to improve downforce at low speed, the balance of the car and to give drivers more stability in all phases of the corner. The engine cover, rear wing and floor have also been redesigned.

Already arrived in Bahrain, Aston Martin will shakedown the AMR25 on the Sakhir circuit from this Monday, a few days before the winter tests (February 26-28). “I can’t wait to get this season started and see the AMR25 take to the track in Bahrain, rejoices Andy Cowell, Team Principal of the British team. This is the culmination of hard work and dedication within the AMR Technology campus. We are all inspired by the Aston Martin DNA and we relentlessly pursue excellence, both on and off the track.”

Personalized « realistic goals » for 2025

“For this year’s car we really took into account the lessons and feedback from last season, specifies the English manager, who refuses to give any numerical objective for the coming season. We have focused on creating a car that is easier for Lance and Fernando to drive and have worked to make it more comfortable. We expect the competition to be tight from the start in Australia, and we know it won’t be easy. Our targets are realistic and aim to enable us to continually improve in all areas, especially as we approach, like all teams, a vital regulatory shake-up in 2026.”

“We learned a lot in 2024 and the team has used that as a driving force going into this season with the AMR25,” adds Fernando Alonso. The double world champion, who will compete in his third season with Aston Martin, hopes for a better campaign than last year. “The competition will be very close this year, which is the last year under the current regulations, but I know the team has worked hard at the factory to make sure we are ready. I can’t wait to get back on track. I’m ready to help this team get stronger and continue the adventure.” The Spaniard must nevertheless suspect that the real deadline will be 2026 for Aston Martin: with the arrival of Honda and that of Adrian Newey – who will take up his duties on March 1 – the British team intends to take advantage of the new technical regulations to reach the top.

I think they have done a lot of work on the suspensions and I have seen the well-evolved single-seater of the AMR 24 if all

Let's hope they are less behind than in 2024 compared to the other top teams, otherwise Alonso risks not remaining nice anymore.
