After a "positive" end to the season, Alonso says he is "ready" to attack 2025

It’s a Fernando Alonso all smiles who was strolling through the corridors of Yas Marina last Sunday at the finish of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Happy, no doubt, to finally be able to go on holiday after the longest season in the history of the F1 but also because he finished it in a good way.
Because after starting the weekend in the United Arab Emirates on the wrong foot, going so far as to say that he was driving "the worst car", the double world champion managed to turn things around. In addition to another appearance in Q3, the Bull of Asturias scored a second consecutive points finish, a week after Qatar.
« They (the points) were important, confessed-he. To finish on a positive note, with a double points finish, feels good. We deserve it because the team never stopped working to get the best out of the car. »
Alonso heading for 2025
Fernando Alonso will now be able to take a deep breath. After the hopes and podiums of 2023, Aston Martin failed to confirm in 2024. There was no fall since it was quickly sheltered from the five teams at the bottom of the table, but it could never hope to animate one or two Grands Prix in the year as the Spaniard had been able to do when he arrived.
This year has quickly become one of “transition” and Lawrence Stroll has been working to strengthen itself for 2025, and above all to not start late. The billionaire has made room to recruit great people like Andy Cowell (CEO), Adrian Newey (technical management partner, from March 1, 2025) and Enrico Cardile (technical director). An “XXL transfer window” that makes the Asturian palpitate.
« I am ready to attack 2025he says. We are going to do a reset. We have learned a lot about the car this year that we need to apply to the next one. We are looking forward to it because we have had more difficulties this year than last but the team has been able to react to adversity and challenges. »

Well, a 2025 season with still the only permanent contract on the grid rather weak in technical returns to improve the single-seater? Not at all certain that Adrian Newey could have intervened on the AMR25 evolution of a "misunderstood" AMR24!!
