Aston Martin will also supply the F1 Safety Car and Medical Car

For the first time in 1 years, two manufacturers will supply the Safety Cars and medical cars used in the World Championship. Formula 1

The FIA and Liberty Media confirmed on Monday thatAston Martin will provide its Vantage, the most powerful model in its sports range, and its DBX, a high-end SUV, to fulfill this crucial dual role in the organization of a Grand Prix.

Both vehicles will sport a British Green livery, similar to those of the AMR21s of Sebastian Vettel et Lance stroll

Official partner of F1 and the FIA since 1996, Mercedes continues its collaboration. The Mercedes-AMG GT R and Mercedes-AMG C 63 S Estate will be back, but in a new red dress in the colors of partner Crowdstrike, specialist in cyber-security.

Aston Martin will be on deck from the start of the season at the Bahrain Grand Prix (March 28), while Mercedes will take over at Imola during the Emilia-Romagna GP (April 18). The two manufacturers, who maintain close industrial links, will then alternate throughout the season.

Regardless of the models used, we will find the faithful Bernd Mayländer at the wheel of the Safety Car, while Alan van der Merwe will continue to drive the medical car.

« The Safety Car and the Medical Car are essential players in ensuring safety on each competition weekend, commented Michael Masi, FIA race director. Whether to inspect the track, intervene in a race, or neutralize a GP, these are vital tools to allow race management to ensure everyone's safety and the relaunch of an event after an accident.

These cars need to be fast in all conditions and must have the latest technology on board. When I see the Vantage and the DBX, I know Aston Martin has risen to the challenge impressively. ».
