The developments of the SF-25 brought to the Sakhir circuit have not upset the hierarchy and do not yet allow the drivers Ferrari to play in the category of McLaren. Nevertheless, the Italian team was able to maximize a solid result with a fourth and a fifth place. Apart from the Papayes, no team has done better in Bahrain.
« I tried everything, blew Charles Leclerc at the microphone of Canal +. I'm happy because we maximized the points but disappointed because we lost the podium a few laps from the finish. It's frustrating to give it your all and still finish fourth, but that's how it is, that's our pace at the moment and we couldn't have done better today. We're not yet performing as we expected."
A Saturday not representative according to Leclerc
Following his superb qualifying (third fastest time) and his start on the front row due to George Russell's penalty, it is difficult to be satisfied with Charles Leclerc's fourth place at the Bahrain Grand Prix. However, the Monegasque believes that his Sunday could not have been better and that qualifying was not representative of his team's performance. car.
« Yesterday I think I did a lap that was beyond the pace of the car, said Charles Leclerc. I managed to do a lap where I put everything in order but when you look at everyone's theoretical times with their best sectors, we shouldn't have been so well classified"
During the race, Ferrari deserves credit for having tried everything, always going against the grain of its rivals: the red cars were fitted with mediums from the start while all the neighbors in the Top 10 had opted for soft tires. Again after the Safety Car on lap 32, the Ferrari drivers had hard tires while the competition largely favored soft or medium tires. These attempts were unsuccessful for Charles Leclerc, who could not fight with the cars in front of him, but these staggered strategies were nevertheless beneficial for Lewis Hamilton, fifth at the finish (ninth at the start).
A quick point in the accounts: the Scuderia is in for a shock after five races. Only fourth with 57 points, the gap with McLaren is growing, reaching 94 points. Excluding the Sprint Championship, the Reds have yet to secure a podium finish.

he is becoming more and more like the perfect son-in-law! we can feel the frustration growing. I personally told him in 2018 at Spa not to go and burn his wings at Ferrari (those overrated and especially overestimated losers). some brilliant moments (first 2 victories with an engine that cheated) but nothing consistent, mistakes and gestures that are more and more limited..(the worst here being the movement in the braking zone and this steering wheel turn to the left to take out Norris) yet he dominates Hamilton quite clearly but jealous and angry contained, too smooth in his comments, "it hurts"!! I like him since F3 but he doesn't make me dream. Ferrari, with Italians, is a team of losers, the only competent people have always been foreigners and even French! to say that they are bad! However, they are expected (by the FIA) to win championships, even helped surely (with a big penalty anyway in China certainly decided by a rebel who must be fired today) and they still don't succeed! Will it end up being seen that they are bad?

The Monegasque defended tooth and nail without being penalized, but was unable to reach the podium. In the end, the Scuderia lost further ground to McLaren and Mercedes.
