Audi in F1 by 2013?

Close to buying the team Red Bull last year before giving up in the face of the amount considered too high, Audi would again consider the possibility of launching into Formula 1 by 2013. It is in fact on this date that the future F1 engine will come into force.

The working group of engine manufacturers is currently working around specifications which are close to what the FIA and Audi defend. The German manufacturer is then waiting to find out more before making a decision on its involvement at the highest level of motorsport.

If this turns out to be positive, what will Audi?s wishes be? It would probably entrust its engine block to one or more partner teams. Until then, the Ingolstadt firm will continue its involvement in endurance and will carry out tests next week on the Paul-Ricard circuit with a view to 24 Hours of Le Mans 2010.

Find the latest information regarding Audi?s future involvement in Formula 1 as well as a report from the Petit Le Mans race in the columns of AUTOhebdo N°1720 published on Wednesday.
