After Lando Norris during Free Practice 1, it is at Charles Leclerc The fastest time in Free Practice 2 of the Australian Grand Prix came back. The Monegasque driver clocked a time of 1'16"439, eight tenths better than the reference time from the first session.
To Ferrari, the result of the day is rather positive, even if the drivers suffered from a lot of understeer. The SF-25 is not yet finely tuned, just like the Red Bull, still very tricky. Max Verstappen had a lot of trouble taming his car, whose rear tends to give way in the bends. Liam Lawson also suffered, failing to do better than the 17th fastest time.

On the other hand, the signals are green at McLaren, whose two drivers placed behind Charles Leclerc (Oscar piastri 2nd, Lando Norris 3rd). The MCL39 behaved better than its rivals and seemed perfectly balanced. The other satisfaction of the day was Racing Bulls, whose two drivers finished in the top 6. Yuki tsunoda, 4th, assumed his status as leader, but his teammate Isack Hadjar is on his heels. The Frenchman had another good session (6th), which allowed him to rank between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, no less.
The stable of Faenza is one of the nice surprises in the middle of the table with WilliamsIncluding Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon showed some interesting things again. The Spaniard was even in the lead for a while thanks to a run on medium tires, before dropping back a little in the hierarchy without having set a time on the soft tires.
The Alpine were much more discreet, but still less so than the Haas, who seem to be in difficulty this weekend. Oliver Bearman, who crashed in FP1, was unable to take to the track because his car was not repaired in time. For his part, Esteban Ocon settled for an anonymous 19th time, which is enough to worry the American team, who were expected to be in better shape.
