AUTOhebdo Special Photo File

Find this week in your AUTOhebdo magazine a Special Photo file.

> Interview with Raymond Depardon, one of the best-known French photographers and filmmakers in the world

> The interview, advice and a portfolio of Bernard Asset, François Baudin and Jean-François Galeron, three of the greatest motorsport photographers in France, present this weekend at the Spanish GP as well as at the rally from New Zealand.

> A buying guide for digital cameras from 500 to 5000 euros.

Philippe Séclier, editor-in-chief, explains the reasons for this choice.

« Before the return of Formula 1 in Europe, we have decided to release this special issue, for readers, who are also spectators and photography enthusiasts, many of whom will certainly go to Barcelona, Monaco, or the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It seemed interesting to me to offer another look at photography and motorsport, with photographers who work regularly with us: Bernard Asset and Jean-François Galeron, who will cover the Spanish F1 GP this weekend, and François Baudin, from the DPPI agency, who will be in New Zealand for the fourth round of the WRC. They introduce you to their profession and give you advice. All of this, completed by three portfolios of ten photos that they each selected.
In addition, we offer a great exclusivity to our readers: an interview with the great photographer and filmmaker Raymond Depardon, who agreed to return to his report made during the Portuguese GP in Estoril, in 1988, dedicated to Ayrton Senna. It was an order from the American magazine Life. A very interesting testimony on an era, on the three-time Brazilian world champion, from a photo-reporter who has the advantage of having an outside perspective, since he does not know motorsport.

A first for AUTOhebdo! In a world where we are overwhelmed with images, it is a way of paying tribute to photographers, who carry out an increasingly difficult job, particularly on circuits and in a tense economic context for photo agencies and freelancers. -spears. Finally, it’s a way of repeating, in our own way, how important, every week, iconography is in AUTOhebdo. So, readers, don’t hesitate to grab your cameras and telephoto lenses and do like the pros…”
