AUTOhebdo meets Ocon and Vandoorne

The first is preparing to make its big debut in F1, this weekend in Spa (Belgium), at Manor. The second did magnificently in Bahrain at McLaren at the start of the season. Before the resumption of the premier discipline, AUTOhebdo brought together the French and the Belgian for an interview full of hope.

Free practice 1: is it a real plus or a real trap?

Stoffel vandoorne : I can't answer because I don't do it. These are not practices that are done in the big stables. That being said, I would have liked it.

Esteban Ocon : It is not an easy exercise because the approach is not at all the same as during a traditional test day where you can attack slowly in the morning, and increase the pace in the afternoon . During the last EL1 that I competed in Hockenheim (Germany), I was well on the pace unlike the previous ones. It took me a little time but the important thing is not to make mistakes and to provide good feedback. You have to do profitable work for the team and not waste their time...
