This is definitely the driver who has been talked about the most in recent weeks. With his refusal to evolve at Alpine in 2023, Oscar piastri embarrassed his team. In the space of 48 hours, the Blues have probably lost two of their three contracted pilots. But before arriving at this catastrophic situation, everything could have gone smoothly for the Tricolore team. With the desire to see evolve as well Fernando Alonso that Oscar Piastri in Formula 1 in 2023, as Laurent Rossi recalled at the French Grand Prix, the A Fléché brand had found the solution to satisfy everyone.

Indeed, Reuters reveals that negotiations between Alpine et Williams had started well for the loan of the young Australian prodigy in 2023. A scenario which had been validated by Laurent Red provided that you can recover the world champion of Formula 2 after his freelance at Grove. By placing the 21-year-old driver in the last team in the constructors' standings, the Blues could have kept Fernando Alonso for another year before sending him to Endurance to place Oscar Piastri in his place.

This choice would have allowed Alpine to follow in the footsteps of Mercedes. As a reminder, the German team sent George Russell to train at Williams for three years before placing him in the W13 this season. Discussions were going well between the two teams to the point that a seat had already been molded for the Australian. This scenario made it possible to satisfy both Alpine and also Williams. Indeed, the Grove stable could have replaced a Nicholas latifi who has still not scored a single point this season by a young talent who is just waiting to make his debut in Formula 1.

But the rest of the story everyone knows. With the announcement of the signing of Fernando Alonso at Aston Martin, Oscar Piastri was logically one of the contenders to occupy the Spaniard's place. But the Australian by exploring his options had already managed to find a better opportunity than joining Williams by signing a pre-contract with McLaren. One Alpine finds himself in a bad position, Williams for his part still has several options after confirming Alexander albon. For now, two names emerge at the top of the list of contenders to replace Nicholas Latifi. On the one hand, Nyck de Vries, reserve driver for Mercedes who sees his contract in Formula E end with the departure of his stable. The other, Logan Sargeant who hits the screen in Formula 2 with Carlin
