In Bahrain, Alpine “accomplished” all of his goals

With a shortened test program, Alpine had every interest in racing this weekend near Bahrain. Done. With Fernando Alonso et Esteban Ocon, the teamenstone was able to complete a busy program with 396 rounds in just three days.

If the goal was to study the entire new car, Alpine focused mainly on the main changes made for the 2021 season such as the chassis and aerodynamics.

« We have carried out very solid tests, recognized the executive director ofAlpine Marcin Budkowski. We had an intense schedule with six days of loop testing in just three. We accomplished everything without significant problems.

Our program focused mainly on aerodynamics, especially in the parts affected by the changes in the regulations. We tried different configurations so that the drivers could get used to the new car. The team did an excellent job on the track but also in the factory. We reached our goal of 130 laps per day and noticed decent performance improvements as the days went by ».

Alpine now turns its attention to the first Grand Prix of the season in Bahrain (March 28) for which the team feels “well prepared”.
