La Team Ferrari achieved the best times in this second week of testing. Kimi Räikkönen set the absolute best time of the 2016 tests in Barcelona by completing a lap of the Circuit de Catalunya in 1'22"765 on day seven. His teammate Sebastian Vettel almost improved this benchmark by failing by less than a tenth on the eighth day with the super soft tires.
Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) is the closest to the performance of the SF16-H with less than three tenths behind a time achieved on the fifth day on soft tires. The Brackley team did not focus on performance, preferring to line up the laps by stringing together race simulations to complete a total of 619 laps. The German was the fastest on medium tires with a time of 1’24”126 achieved on the seventh day.
It was again Kimi Räikkönen who was the most offensive with the medium tires, completing a lap of the track in 1’23”009. Valtteri Bottas (Williams) achieved the best performance on hard tires with a time of 1’25”402.
In terms of relays, the longest was achieved by Max Verstappen (Toro Rosso) with a total of 29 laps completed on medium tires.
