Kimi Räikkönen maintained the best time in testing in Barcelona even though the Ferrari driver suffered a mechanical problem.

Barcelona: Räikkönen finishes testing in the lead

Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) will remain the fastest of the 2017 winter tests in Barcelona (Spain) after completing a lap of the Catalunya circuit in 1'18''634 this morning, even if the top teams seem to be hiding their game. The Finn has continued its program this afternoon but was interrupted by an electrical fault quickly repaired by the Team.

Max Verstappen (Red Bull) ends the day being closest to the reference even if he is 8 tenths behind the Ferrari. The Red Bull RB13 remained in the pits for a while due to turbo problems. Carlos Sainz Jr. (Toro Rosso) completes the excess of head by having been the most diligent on the track.

Valtteri Bottas et Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) complete the top five being separated by 5 thousandths, with 53 laps covered each. The W08, which covered more than 5000km in tests, precedes the Renault de Nico Hulkenberg and the Force India of Sergio Pérez suffered minor mechanical problems at the end of the session.

Jolyon Palmer (Renault) finished 8th ahead of Williams FW40 Lance stroll and Haas de Romain Grosjean which suffered a hydraulic leak late in the afternoon.

McLaren Had difficulty resolving electrical issues. 11th in the standings, the MCL32 was once again the least active on the track and it did not exceed stints of a dozen laps this week. Sauber drivers Marcus Ericsson and Pascal Wehrlein complete the list.
