Bahrain, a tenth anniversary under the lights

The Sakhir circuit is hosting the world endurance championship this weekend (WEC) and the organizers had the opportunity to test their projectors in preparation for the holding of the Bahrain Grand Prix in Formula 1 the 6 2014 April.

For the tenth anniversary of the event, the director of the Bahrain international circuit, Sheikh Salman bin Isa Al-Khalifa, wants to follow in the footsteps of Singapore and organize a night race.

“This is the most important project we have carried out since the creation of the track, he admitted. I think there is no better way to celebrate our tenth anniversary in Formula 1 than by showing our long-term commitment through this heavy investment. »

If some adjustments to the structures reserved for spectators and lights will be made by February, the 2014 F1 season will include two night rounds with Bahrain and Singapore.
