Barrichello: “Like 5 years ago”

Jordan, Stewart, Ferrari, Honda, Brawn and now Williams. Rubens Barrichello is still not ready to hang up his helmet, especially since the return of Michael Schumacher no longer makes him the “veteran of the paddock”. The Brazilian, as usual, will approach this new season with the same desire as a beginner.

“I am delighted to begin my 18th season, declares the former Ferrari driver. I am extremely motivated and my physical condition is better than it has ever been. I am very happy to drive for the AT&T Williams team. I already feel like I was five years ago! »

At 37, he still has the physique of a young man, ready to do battle in Bahrain, after encouraging tests:

“We covered many kilometers during the winter tests, working first on reliability during the first two sessions, then on developments for Bahrain during the last ones. The car has progressed enormously, I think we will be prepared, I am optimistic, but it is very difficult to know where we are exactly. The season is going to be fantastic with the new teams, new drivers and new regulations. »

According to many specialists, McLaren, Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull should constitute the untouchable leading quartet of this new 2010 season. But the Williams team is regularly cited as being able to be a spoilsport among these four favorites.
