Barrichello masks his disappointment

Rubens, on your birthday, you had a great weekend. Surely you were considering pole?
The qualification went very well. I had a good rhythm. But every day the car was good. Honestly, I thought I had the upper hand on Jenson (Button) in qualifying. Everything was going well and my last lap was very good. That's why I congratulate Jenson, because he must have really done a fantastic round to beat me. There isn't anything I could have done to be better. I am happy with the work done even if I would have liked to take pole on my birthday. »

No birthday present but you can't be disappointed?
No, it's true, I had a great Saturday. I did everything I had to do, on the track and in the pits, so I'm satisfied. My best lap of the weekend was done on a set of used tires, which is quite surprising, and we need to understand why new tires perform less well.

And it is still your best qualifying result in 17 appearances in Monaco. What do you think of the circuit?
I am very happy with my position on the grid. My goal was not to have regrets, not to think that I could have done better. I tell you, I had a fantastic ride, I'm really proud of myself. Unfortunately, it's still a tenth from pole. I must be satisfied because I gave everything.
