Great exercise for Force India in Bahrain

Force India only has 14 points in the Championship but the Indian team clearly has the potential to hope for good results. Comfortable since the start of the weekend on the Bahrain circuit, Paul di Resta and Adrian Sutil both managed to qualify in Q3. The Scot and the German will start from the third row of the Bahrain Grand Prix after taking advantage of penalties Lewis Hamilton and Mark Webber. “An excellent effort from the team allows us to achieve our best qualifying performance of the season”, summarizes Team Principal Robert Fernley. “We knew we had the potential to place both our cars in Q3. Paul and Adrian finished with a gap of just one hundredth. We were hoping to gain positions with the penalties and this gives us very good positions for the race. We are not worried about the tires, tomorrow it will be about keeping the places and finding a clear path in terms of strategy in order to have a good pace in the race. »

Paul di Resta will start from fifth place after beating Adrian Sutil in qualifying. The Scot intends to showcase himself after observing the potential of his VJM06. “The car is competitive and our performance on the long runs yesterday gives us every reason to hope for good points at the end of the race. » The German was less comfortable on his car but still managed to set the pace of his teammate. “The car was quite complicated to drive today and the level of grip on the track made a perfect lap difficult to achieve. My last lap in Q3 could have been better but I'm still happy with the result, particularly moving up to sixth place on the grid. The circuit suits us because we like hot weather and things look promising for tomorrow. »
