Great start for Toro Rosso

Sebastien Buemi finished the first race of the season in 10th place. But thanks to the disqualification of the two Saubers, the Swiss driver moved up to 8th place. It allows Toro Rosso to score points from the first meeting of the season. “It?s not so bad to finish tenth, but I think I could have done better, 8th or 9th place was possible, regrets the Swiss pilot. It?s a shame to have had this contact with my teammate in the first corner. This isn't the first time this has happened, so I think we'll have a discussion about it once I see the video of the incident. Towards the end, I was unable to keep Massa at bay, who was faster than me at the time, but I am delighted with the result. Ultimately, we are much more competitive than last year. Now we will continue to move forward, making further improvements to the car. It's a positive start and we will have a lot to learn from this weekend's analysis. Then we will see what we can do in Malaysia. »

Team manager Franz Tost is delighted with the team?s results. Scoring points from the first grand prix is always a good sign for the future. “A good result for the whole team, because we scored points from the first race of the season, judges the Austrian. This proves that Toro Rosso worked well during the winter. Sebastien made a good start, but the incident with Alguersuari had a negative impact on his performance. However, Sebastien did well and did a very good job. We now prepare for Malaysia with confirmation that we have started on the right foot and we must work to maintain this momentum. »
