Berger: Vettel better than Alonso and Hamilton

Sebastian Vettel is marking the history of F1. With four consecutive titles, the pilot Red Bull harms competition even if Fernando Alonso defended himself tooth and nail with a Ferrari F138 lacking performance. However, his attitude shocked Gerhard Berger who now believes that the Red Bull driver outperforms the Asturian.

“I still thought a year ago that Alonso was the most complete driver”, said the former Scuderia Ferrari driver in Auto Motor und Sport, reported by Planet F1. “The way he chooses his trajectory in the first corner to get rid of his opponent in the following ones is incredible. But I now put Vettel in first place. Alonso showed that he was not as perfect as I thought. He did not lead his team well in difficult times. He criticized Ferrari in public, which is not productive. He revealed a weak point. Vettel also had problems during the first part of the season but he still did a good job. »

Gerhard Berger also distances himself from the performances of Lewis Hamilton. If the 2008 world champion was ahead of his teammate Nico Rosberg by 18 points, the German won two victories (in Monaco and Silverstone) against just one for the Briton (in Budapest). “I don’t find him as complete as the other two (Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso)”, added the Austrian. “For me, Räikkönen comes (in third position). What he can still do is fantastic but perhaps he will reach his limits with Alonso. I'm also impressed by Nico Rosberg who is underrated. He performed incredibly well against Michael Schumacher like against Hamilton. He takes the team on his side step by step. They were all enthusiastic at the start with Hamilton as was the case with Schumacher. Nico will win a world title. »
