Bernie Ecclestone: 'F1 has never been so bad'

While F1 is losing momentum with ever lower audiences, the director of the FOM Bernie Ecclestone sticks the knife in the wound by virulently criticizing the spectacle offered by the discipline at the moment when the 2016 season begins with the winter tests on the circuit of Catalunya to Barcelona.

“I don’t need a job and I don’t need money”, the 85-year-old British businessman told Daily Mail. “Most teams only think about their short-term well-being. The long term for most people in the paddock is no further than two or three races. The result is that F1 has never been so bad. I wouldn't spend my money to take my family to see an event, that's for sure. »

Bernie Ecclestone is saddened to see Mercedes F1 dominates the peloton so much, making the outcome of the races quite predictable. "What's the point when you know with near certainty, and the punters know, they're not stupid, that Lewis Hamilton will probably place his car on pole and win the race and the cars (powered) by Mercedes will complete the podium? », added Mr. E.

Mercedes F1 was only beaten three times in 2015 with wins from Sebastian Vettel on Ferrari.
