Bernie Ecclestone tackles FOTA

The atmosphere continues to deteriorate between the teams and Bernie Ecclestone as the end of the Concorde Agreement approaches. The teams, grouped within FOTA (Formula One Team?s Association), are demanding more revenue from commercial rights, which seems to upset Bernie Ecclestone.

The financier of the F1 does not wish to give in to the repeated demands of the Association, despite the economic difficulties plaguing the highest level of the discipline. Christian Horner, present with Bernie Ecclestone when the subject was raised, did not seek to expand on the subject.

However, the financier still showed himself to be exasperated by the teams? insistence on seeking additional profits. ?I try not to think about them. It's a useless association, they should put their priorities elsewhere by making the cars that are lined up on the grid more competitive. They don?t have to think about that, I am responsible for this area and they have enough financial resources. »
