The 2022 season was rich in emotions for the Team Ferrari, and in every sense of the word. If it has regained competitiveness after two years far from the top places, the trans teamalpine also lost some along the way seeing thus Red Bull gradually take off. Mattia Binotto tried hard to keep the ship afloat but ended up sinking against the untouchable Austrian armada during the second half.

It should also be noted that the Scuderia was not up to par during a few meetings where it was more doubtful than confident. Mattia Binotto defended himself by saying that the strategy did not work, that they were trapped by the traffic on the track or that they were simply unlucky. In the end, Ferrari's main team ended up slamming the door submitting his resignation as rumors about his departure grew more and more numerous.

« When you complete 2e with Ferrari, it's not enough, explained the former principal team of the Reds Stefano Domenicali (2008-2014) to Sky Sports News. I don't want to interfere in the team dynamic, but I want to wish him the best for his future. I was in the same situation or position many years ago and I want to wish him to stay focused and believe in himself »

His departure confirmed, Mattia Binotto will officially leave Scuderia Ferrari on December 31. As for his successor, the Maranello team has indicated that he will not be confirmed before 2023. To take over, the latest rumors speak of the arrival of Frenchman Frédéric Vasseur, current team principal ofAlfa Romeo. Stefano Domenicali hopes in any case that his former team will find “ the right solution to stay in the game because it has caught up well with their situation two years ago »
