Bottas annoyed at being compared to Nico Rosberg

Valtteri Bottas is tired of being compared to Nico Rosberg, the former teammate of Lewis Hamilton in Mercedes. If the German won the title in 2016, his general performances lagged behind the Briton who will aim for the record of 7 titles held by Michael Schumacher next year.

With only 4 victories to his credit this year compared to ten for the reigning champion, Valtteri Bottas struggles to compare.

“I'm a little tired because each driver is unique. I am me, I am not Nico, he said at a press conference in the Brazilian GP paddock. I have plans to achieve my goal of being champion. It involves beating my teammate but also many other drivers. I always preferred to debate on the track. »

“I don't want to waste my energy elsewhere because it could affect my driving. I know I can annoy the other garage a bit if I'm at the level I want and I know that can lead to making mistakes by being on the wrong side.", added the Finn.

Despite another year dominated by Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas does not let himself be discouraged and remains confident for 2020, the last season contested with the current regulations.

“This was my best season so far in F1 but this is not yet the result I aspire to, he insisted. I still need to become more consistent and make fewer mistakes. What gives me confidence for the future is seeing my work and that of the engineers starting to pay off. It can really solve most of the mistakes I make and I have been able to improve my rhythm on several occasions. It's satisfying and leaves you wanting more. »

Valtteri Bottas is already guaranteed to finish vice-champion this year while he only took 5th place last year.
