Bottas hopes to play on strategy

While Lewis Hamilton spun in Q2, Valtteri Bottas pranced at the top of the timesheet. “ I was doing pretty well until Q3, I felt comfortable in the car and I was able to use the tires." commented the Finn.

A sign ? Not really. Hamilton finally won pole, ahead of his teammate at Mercedes by three tenths. Bottas notably missed a sector on each of his two laps in Q3, while he was in the lead at the first. “ I started to slide behind in the last session, more than I expected. It’s disappointing but Lewis was better, he did a really good job.”

On Sunday, Bottas will hold all hopes of suspense in his arms, as the gap with the other teams is abysmal. “My pace in the long runs is very good this weekend, so I think there is an opportunity. Last year, Lewis managed to win from second thanks to a different strategy than mine. So everything is open. » On Hamilton land, the game will still be difficult.
