Bottas: “I need to keep this dynamic”

Almost three months after his last Grand Prix success, Valtteri Bottas finally won. This Sunday, the pilot Mercedes won the Russian GP ahead of Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton penalized.

« I knew I would have opportunities after the start and Lewis was then penalized. Once I was free in front I felt the pace was good and I could really control everything, he savored in his post-race interview.

I'm very happy to have won here, had the fastest lap. In addition, it is a new victory for the team on this circuit. A great day for me anyway! »

And yes, “nice day” because he didn’t encounter any difficulties. Indeed, alone in the lead after Lewis Hamilton served his penalty, Valtteri Bottas only had to manage his pace. He didn't even have to worry about Max Verstappen, his first pursuer.

« This victory feels good, it's been a while. I need to keep this dynamic going. I managed to grab a few points from Lewis but there are still races left, you never know. I will continue to give everything, I will not give up. We'll see how it ends ».

In the standings, Valtteri Bottas reduced his gap with Lewis Hamilton by 11 points. He is now 44 units behind his teammate.
