Bottas: Never be upset with Hamilton

Valtteri Bottas struggled last year to showcase himself against his illustrious teammate Lewis Hamilton. With nine victories and a title for the Briton against three successes for the former resident Williams, the 2017 season was a hard learning experience for the Finn who was only renewed for one year and who saw his place threatened by Esteban Ocon currently with Force India.

“Lewis is a great driver. I should never be upset if he is faster than me at times, commented Valtteri Bottas. I just have to accept it and learn from these races, Cited in The Express. I was definitely struggling with myself last year when I was struggling, but that's also part of the learning process. »

The 28-year-old Finn shows renewed confidence for the 2018 season saying he will focus more on his own performances rather than comparing himself to his teammate.

“I will approach this year with a good state of mind, added Valtteri Bottas. I know I can achieve great things. We will see this race after race. I know I need results to ensure a long-term relationship with the team. I have to be able to compete with Lewis, and that's completely up to me. I am not going to engage in a psychological battle but rather focus on my own performances on the track. »

The internal match at Mercedes will start again on March 24 with the Australian GP played on the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne. Last year, Valtteri Bottas completed the podium behind Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) and Lewis Hamilton.
