Bottas pragmatic: “I still have a lot to do”

It is easy to write that Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) did not have a quiet 2018 season. The Finn, only fifth in the general classification when his teammate Lewis Hamilton gleaned a fifth title, finished the campaign with morale down, while maintaining the trust placed in him by Toto wolff

After the first winter tests in Barcelona (Spain), the wearer of number 77 certifies that he has regained his strength. « I still think I haven't achieved anything F1, so I still have a lot to do. I want to achieve my goals, no matter what it takes me, and to be truly mentally prepared to give it my all this year.", certifies the man with three successes to the official F1 website.

Valtteri Bottas, like any top athlete, aims « victory, as much as possible. The only focus of the season is the Drivers' World Championship from a personal point of view, as well as that of the Teams for Mercedes. »

Dominated by his teammate champion, Valtteri Bottas worked hard to develop as a driver to get up to speed. « I have to be at my best and it relies on lots of details. In terms of riding, this winter I really thought about it and tried to learn the main ways to beat (Lewis). I have certain areas where I am at a deficit against Lewis, certain types of corners where that happens”, he delivers.

“At the end of the season, I don't want to say to myself "I wish I had tried my luck more fiercely" or “I would have done things differently.” I'm just going to try to be the best I can be. » Will Valtteri Bottas turn into a beast to win, he the pilot qualified as a “wingman” of Lewis Hamilton in 2018?
