Bottas too close for pole at Hockenheim

Valtteri Bottas is in a very positive period and highlights the progress of Williams Racing which does not seem marked by the withdrawal of the FRIC, quite the contrary. The Finn secured the front row of the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim just two tenths behind Nico Rosberg's pole, matching his performance in Austria. The resident of the British team can be all the more confident as he remains on two consecutive podiums.

The Scandinavian could even have dreamed of a first pole in F1, but the latter believes that such a result was impossible given the performance of the W05 still in the race. “I must admit that I am very satisfied with this result obtained today with the team. I congratulate all the staff although I think that Mercedes is always ahead. I made no mistakes in my last attempt, I really did a good lap, and I think I exploited the full potential of the car."

The performance of Williams Racing has all the more impact as the Grove cars were rather discreet during testing. “We knew we didn’t have too much to worry about yesterday.”, adds Valtteri Bottas. “We managed to improve the car, notably by improving its balance. But I think sometimes some teams focus more on the qualifying rounds during practice. »

The start of the German Grand Prix will be at 14 p.m. and will be followed live on AUTOhebdo.fr. Photos of the event can be viewed on this link.
