Boullier: McLaren must save its image

The first top ten of the season Fernando Alonso at the British GP brought a positive touch in the disastrous season of McLaren. On its national event, the Woking team was only able to obtain one point, the second MP4-30 driven by Jenson Button having retired.

If McLaren has solid bases to move up the hierarchy, the lack of performance is starting to worry the British structure which fears for its image.

“You establish a brand by repeating successes. McLaren has established itself as a brand of excellence through its victories and titles won”, recalled Team Principal Éric Boullier in the Silverstone paddock, cited in particular by Reuters agency.

The Frenchman expressed McLaren's concerns about the possible consequences of this drop in performance. “This has a business impact as many people and businesses want to join us, but others within their organizations may question the lack of results. I don't think we can wait much longer », warned Éric Boullier.
