“I had a very difficult first stint,” comments Bourdais. “After the third lap, I already had graining on my tires. Several drivers were able to pass me and the team asked me to come into the pits. The second part was less difficult. Coming out of the safety car, we knew we had to refuel to be able to go to the end. A few more laps behind the safety car would have helped us because I had to do the last 36 laps without stopping. The car behaved like a caravan with a full tank! »
At the end of the race, despite a scare, the driver Toro Rosso was able to progress in the rankings to finish ninth: “I had a problem with my harness. I couldn't tighten it. I think we should be more competitive next week in Malaysia. »
