Bourdais disappointed but ready to fight!

?I was satisfied yesterday because my 10th time showed that we were more competitive than in Malaysia. Unfortunately, we were not able to go any faster. This morning, without changing anything, we lost compared to Seb (Buemi) due to major problems with lateral traction. I drop 5/10th between turns 9 and 10 where I lose the rear, as well as at the exit of 12 which conditions the straight. Compared to Seb's car, only the rear spring is different from ours from Malaysia. This may be the source of the problem, but without realizing it it would have been necessary to change it yesterday because the box had to be dismantled. »

If Sébastien mentioned this problem, it was not to exonerate himself since he was the first to admit his faults.

“It's not for this reason that I'm not moving into Q2, but because I wanted to add a little. I was 1/10th better than Seb when I made my mistake, but I would have finished behind anyway because the three corners where I struggled with traction were still to come. I was well in 7 but when it came time to position myself for 8, I went slightly off the line and made the entire turn in the dust. »

Meanwhile, the young Buemi passed Q1 and Q2 to find himself in Q3.

“He signed three very good laps,” concluded a Bourdais who, however, did not despair of fighting for points tomorrow. From 16th place to the points, there is something to fight for. Even the Ferrari will be takeable! »
